Benchmarks

The Intel Core i5-13400 is a 10-core processor that can process tasks in 16 threads simultaneously. Although the Intel Core i5-13400 belongs to the 13th generation of the Intel Core i series, it is still based on last years "Alder Lake" architecture. The larger models of the 13th Core i generation use the newer "Raptor Lake" architecture of the CPU cores.

The Intel Core i5-13400 also relies on a hybrid core design consisting of 6 larger "Raptor Cove" cores and 4 smaller "Gracemont" CPU cores. The faster P-cores take care of foreground tasks, while the small and efficient Gracemont cores calculate background tasks while saving power. However, they can also work together on a task together with the faster CPU cores.

The clock frequency of the Intel Core i5-13400 is up to 4.6 GHz in turbo mode. The base clock frequency is 2.5 GHz for the P cores and 1.8 GHz for the E cores. The latter can clock up to 3.3 GHz in turbo mode.

The Intel UHD Graphics 730 is used as the internal graphics (iGPU) in the Intel Core i5-13400, which is older and actually only suitable for image output. The integrated graphics of the Intel Core i5-13400 is also not fast enough for older games.

Since the Intel Core i5-13400 is based on the older "Alder Lake" architecture, a maximum of DDR5-4800 memory is supported, even if faster working memory modules can also be used unofficially via the Intel XMP profile. Up to 20 PCIe 5.0 lines are available for connecting external devices. However, this requires a corresponding chipset on the mainboard.

The TDP of the Intel Core i5-13400 is 65 watts (PL1 or PBP). The processor can theoretically secure up to 154 watts, but this is not necessary in practice. The energy consumption of the processor is permanently under 100 watts in practice.

Leaderboards

In our leaderboards, we have clearly compiled the best processors for specific categories for you. The leaderboards are always up to date and are regularly updated by us. The best processors are selected according to popularity and speed in benchmarks as well as the price-performance ratio.
