Description of the processor

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X is an 8-core processor from AMD that is intended to serve the mid-range price segment. It is fast enough to run all current games smoothly (an appropriate graphics card is also required). The processor can process a total of 16 threads at the same time, so the processor is also suitable for calculations in the video or CAD area.

The base clock frequency of the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X is 3.4 GHz, the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X can clock a single CPU core at up to 4.6 GHz, with the utilization of all CPU cores in turbo mode sufficiently good cooling, 4.2 GHz is still possible.

The processor can be freely overclocked via the AMD Ryzen Master software or usually also via the mainboards bios. The same applies to the main memory, which is supported up to the DDR4-3200 standard, but significantly higher clock frequencies are also possible here via overclocking.

A maximum of 128 GB of RAM can be connected in up to 4 memory banks and two memory channels. PCIe 4.0 is supported with 20 lines, so, for example, an external graphics card and an M.2 SSD can be connected to the system at full speed at the same time. The maximum memory bandwidth is 51.2 GB/s when using two memory bars with DDR4-3200 speed.

As one of the last processors presented, the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X still fits into the old AMD AM4 socket and is well suited for equipping an older system with a modern processor at a reasonable price. The level 2 cache is 4 MB, the level 3 cache is 32 MB.

The processor is manufactured in a 7 nm manufacturing process at TSMC in Taiwan. However, the chip design comes from AMD. The processor does not have an internal graphics unit (iGPU); a dedicated graphics card must be used here.
