The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X is a notable processor from an earlier generation. It is based on the Zen architecture and had the internal code name Whitehaven. This chip was manufactured using the 14 nm process and once set standards. It was known for its high core count, which made it very powerful.

This made it ideal for parallel multitasking in many applications. With 32 MB of Level 3 cache, it also offered ample fast memory access. This was particularly important for the complex calculations of the time. Its maximum memory bandwidth of 85 GB/s achieved excellent values for the time. This supported demanding workloads on the platform very effectively.

In Cinebench 2024, the processor achieves 58 points in the single-core test. For multi-core applications, it still achieves 783 points, a solid result. These results show its continued processing power even in modern benchmarks. We were surprised by how much raw power this chip can still deliver. Its PCIe 3.0 connection is still sufficient for a variety of expansion cards today.

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X thus remains an interesting choice. This is especially true for systems designed for high parallel processing.
