The Intel Core i7-4770K is a quad-core processor that supports both Intel Hyperthreading Technology and offers the option of overclocking. The processor clocks at 3.50 gigahertz, with the clock going into turbo mode with full load and then clocks with up to 3.90 gigahertz with single core load and up to 3.70 gigahertz with multi core load.

The internal graphics unit “Intel HD Graphics 4600” of the Intel Core i7-4770K supports DirectX up to version 11.1, whereby the graphics unit itself comes from the 7.5 generation of Intels in-house graphics units. The graphic is equipped with a total of 20 execution units and supports image output on up to 3 devices. The standard clock rate of the graphics unit is 0.35 gigahertz and increases in turbo mode to up to 1.25 gigahertz when the GPU is loaded.

In hardware, the processor supports decoding of the h.264 codec, the VC-1 codec and the AVC codec, with the latter also being able to encode in hardware.

The Intel Core i7-4770K offers a total of 2 memory channels via which the DDR3 memory modules can be controlled. The officially supported clock rate of the main memory is 1600 megahertz. Even if not officially, the processor itself also supports working memory with a higher clock rate, only the mainboard used has to support it.

Graphics cards or other expansion cards can be connected to the processor via the 16 available PCI-Express lines. What and how much is supported depends a lot on the mainboard used.

The Intel Core i7-4770K, released in the second quarter of 2013, is manufactured using the 22 nanometer process, comes from the Intel Haswell series and requires a mainboard with the LGA 1150 socket.
