The AMD Ryzen 5 1500X marked an important step for AMD at the time. It was based on the Zen architecture with the codename Summit Ridge, which ushered in a new era. Even then, this processor offered remarkable multicore performance for its class. It was manufactured using the 14nm process, which was very advanced for the time.

With 16 MB of L3 cache, it provided sufficient buffer memory for applications. In Cinebench 2024, the processor achieved 62 points in the single-core test. Its multicore performance was demonstrated with 291 points in the same application. It also supported the then-current PCIe 3.0 standard for graphics cards and expansion cards.

The maximum memory bandwidth was a solid 43 GB/s, suitable for many tasks. We saw the AMD Ryzen 5 1500X as a solid choice for systems that needed balanced performance. It laid the foundation for today's Ryzen family.
