Description of the processor

The Intel Core i5-1035G1, which is based on the "Ice Lake U" architecture and manufactured in the 10 nanometer process, was released by Intel in the third quarter of 2019.

The processor can also fall back on 4 physical cores and can, thanks to Intels Hyperthreading technology, make 8 logical cores out of the 4 physical ones. The 4 physical cores clock at 1.00 gigahertz in standard mode. In turbo mode, the clock is increased up to 3.60 Gigahertz when a single core is loaded. The clock rate still increases to 3.20 GHz when several cores are loaded.

The internal graphics unit in the Intel Core i5-1035G1 is the "Intel UHD Graphics" from Intels 11th generation of graphics units clocks with 0.30 Gigahertz by default. If a higher performance is required, the graphics unit switches to turbo mode, where the clock is then up to 1.05 gigahertz. The "Intel UHD Graphics" supports Microsofts DirectX 12 and is equipped with a total of 32 execution units. Thus, up to 3 monitors can be supplied with an image, whereby the notebooks equipment of course always plays a role.

The "Intel UHD Graphics" is mainly used in mobile devices. For example, it is installed in Lenovos Ideapad C340-15IIL or HPs Pavilion 14-ce3011ng.

Laptop manufacturers can choose between DDR4 working memory with up to 3200 megahertz or LPDDR4 working memory with up to 3733 megahertz. The processor controls the working memory via a total of 2 memory channels. For a faster exchange of information between the working memory and the processor, the Intel Core i5-1035G1 has a 6 megabyte L3 cache.

The Intel Core i5-1035G1 supports all common Intel virtualization technologies and the AES-NI data carrier encryption in hardware is also integrated in the processor.
