The Intel Core i7-7660U was specifically designed for use in mobile devices. It came from the then Kaby Lake U architecture. It was manufactured using the proven 14-nanometer process. This enabled a very good balance between the necessary computing power and economical energy consumption.

Particularly noteworthy was the integrated Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640. This graphics unit represented a significant improvement for the time. It offered noticeably higher graphics performance than many conventional onboard solutions. This made the Intel Core i7-7660U a solid choice for everyday applications.
