The Intel Core i5-12500H is a 12th generation processor from Intels Core i5 series. It was launched by Intel in the first quarter of 2022 and is based on the Alder Lake H architecture. The H at the end of the item designation indicates, among other things, that this is a mobile processor that is mainly used in notebooks.

The Intel Core i5-12500H has a total of 12 physical processor cores. These are 4 performance cores (Golden Cove), which have a basic clock frequency of 2.80 gigahertz and whose maximum turbo clock is 4.50 gigahertz. The remaining 8 cores are Gracemont-type efficiency cores that clock at 1.80 gigahertz (base clock) or up to 3.30 gigahertz (max. turbo clock). Core i5-12500H a total of 16 computing threads are available.

The Intel Iris XE Graphics 80 from the Alder Lake architecture is used as the internal graphics unit in the Intel Core i5-12500H. This iGPU was also launched in the first quarter of 2022 and is manufactured using the 10-nanometer process. The base clock frequency of the Intel Iris XE Graphics 80 is 0.40 gigahertz and the maximum dynamic clock frequency is 1.30 gigahertz. As the name suggests, the graphics unit has 80 execution units. The number of shader units is 640 and the Intel Iris XE graphics unit can use up to 32 gigabytes of the RAM installed in the system.

The Intel Core i5-12500H can be operated with up to 64 gigabytes of RAM. Which type can be operated depends on the end device, DDR4 or DDR5 as well as LPDDR4 and LPDDR5 memory are supported. The processor has 2 memory channels with which it achieves a maximum bandwidth of 76.8 GB/s.
