Description of the processor

The Intel Core i7-12650H is a mobile processor from Intel and comes from the "Alder Lake" CPU architecture. With Alder Lake, this is the first time in mass production from Intel that it has a hybrid CPU core layout. This is made up of two CPU cores of different sizes.

The six larger and faster P-cores of the Intel Core i7-12650H are based on Intels "Golden Cove" architecture, which is also used in Intels current desktop processors. The P cores in the Intel Core i7-12650H can be clocked at up to 4.7 GHz, whereby the clock frequency depends on the CPU temperature and the processors energy consumption. The guaranteed base clock is 2.3 GHz.

The Intel Core i7-12650H also has 4 smaller E-cores that come from Intels "Gracemont" architecture. These are comparable to the Intel Atom processors and offer even better efficiency. At 1.7 GHz in the base or up to 3.5 GHz, the clock frequency of the E cores is significantly lower than that of the P cores. The E cores primarily take care of background tasks, but can also work together with the larger P cores.

Integrated graphics are also included in the Intel Core i7-12650H. The 12th generation Intel UHD Graphics has the full expansion level in the Intel Core i7-12650H with 64 execution units. Nevertheless, this is not a graphic that is suitable for computer games. At best, older titles can be played on the iGPU.

The Intel Core i7-12650H can address up to 64 GB of RAM, with a wide range of modules supported from DDR4, DDR5 to LPDDR4 and LPDDR5. The maximum memory bandwidth using two memory modules in dual-channel mode is 83.2 GB/s when using LPDDR5-5200 memory.

A dedicated graphics card can be connected via PCIe 4.0 with up to 16 PCIe lines.
