Geekbench 6 is a benchmark for modern computers, notebooks and smartphones. What is new is an optimized utilization of newer CPU architectures, e.g. based on the big.LITTLE concept and combining CPU cores of different sizes. The single-core benchmark only evaluates the performance of the fastest CPU core, the number of CPU cores in a processor is irrelevant here.

Description of the processor

The Intel Core i7-1355U is a processor from Intel that was introduced in the first quarter of 2023. It is based on the Raptor Lake U architecture and comes from the 13th generation of Intels mobile Core i7 family. This is the direct successor to the Intel Core i7-1255U, which was released a year earlier, in the first quarter of 2022.

The Intel Core i7-1355U is built in a hybrid core architecture and has 2 high-performance Raptor-type cores. There are also 8 Gracemont-type efficiency cores, which are used when there are no computing-intensive tasks to save energy. The 2 high-performance cores clock at up to 5.00 gigahertz and support hyperthreading, while the 8 efficiency cores only clock at up to 3.70 gigahertz and do not support hyperthreading technology. This means that the Intel Core i7-1355U has a total of 10 processor cores and 12 computing threads available.

The Intel Iris Xe Graphics 96 of the Alder Lake architecture is installed as the internal graphics unit in the Intel Core i7-1355U. This iGPU comes from the 13th generation of Intels graphics units and clocks at up to 1.30 gigahertz. The graphics unit, which was installed for the first time in the first quarter of 2022, is manufactured with a structure width of 10 nanometers and, with its 96 execution units and 768 shaders, achieves an FP32 computing power of 1993 GigaFLOPS.

Together with the Intel Core i7-1355U, up to 64 gigabytes of RAM can be operated. The following memory types are supported: LPDDR5-6400, LPDDR4X-4266, DDR5-5200, DDR4-3200. With the 2 existing memory channels, the processor can achieve memory bandwidths of 51.2 to 102.4 GB/s. The Intel Core i7-1355U also has 20 PCI Express lanes in version 4.0, which enables a bandwidth of 39.4 GB/S.
