News and articles for the Intel Core i7-13700

Description of the processor

The Intel Core i7-13700 is a processor from Intels Core i7 series, released by Intel in the first quarter of 2023. It is based on the Raptor Lake S architecture and is manufactured using 10-nanometer technology. The Intel Core i7-13700 requires a suitable mainboard with the Intel socket LGA 1700 and Intel specifies the official release price as 384 USD.

The level 2 cache of the Intel Core i7-13700 is 24.00 megabytes and the level 3 cache is 30.00 megabytes, 6 megabytes larger. The processor has 16 cores built in a hybrid architecture. In addition to the 8 Raptor Cove-type performance cores, the processor also has 8 Gracemont-type efficiency cores. The Raptor Cove cores clock at 2.10 gigahertz and in turbo mode the clock can increase to up to 5.20 gigahertz. The efficiency cores clock at 1.50 gigahertz and here the maximum turbo clock is 4.10 gigahertz. Hyperthreading technology is only supported by the performance cores, which means that the Intel Core i7-13700 has a total of 24 computing threads at its disposal.

The Intel UHD Graphics 770, which was installed for the first time in the fourth quarter of 2021, is used as the internal graphics unit in the processor. In the Intel Core i7-13700, the iGPU clocks at 300 megahertz and the maximum dynamic clock is 1.60 gigahertz. The graphics unit consists of 32 execution units with 256 shader units. The graphics can use up to 64 gigabytes of the RAM installed in the system and, like the processor, is manufactured using the 10-nanometer process.

When it comes to RAM, the Intel Core i7-13700 relies exclusively on the new DDR5 RAM. Modules of the DDR5-5600 type are officially supported and up to 128 gigabytes of RAM can be operated with the processor. With the 2 available memory channels, a theoretical bandwidth of up to 89.6 GB/s can be achieved.
