The Intel Core i9-13980HX is a processor from the mobile segment of Intels Core i9 series. It is from the 13th generation of the series and was launched by Intel in the first quarter of 2023. The Intel Core i9-13980HX is based on the Raptor Lake H architecture and is manufactured in a monolithic chip design. Since the processor, as mentioned at the beginning, is a mobile processor, it is only used permanently soldered to the BGA 1744 socket. The Intel Core i9-13980HX has a 32.00 megabyte level 2 cache and a 36.00 megabyte level 3 cache. The Intel Core i9-13980HX can be used under Windows or Linux and is manufactured with a structure width of 10 nanometers.

The processor relies on the hybrid big.LITTLE core architecture, which in this case means that 8 performance cores (codename Raptor Cove) and 16 efficiency cores (codename Gracemont) are used. The performance cores clock at 2.20 gigahertz, can increase their clock rate to up to 5.60 gigahertz in turbo mode and support hyperthreading. The 16 efficiency cores clock at 1.60 gigahertz and the maximum turbo clock is 4.00 gigahertz. The efficiency cores do not support hyperthreading, which means that the processor has a total of 24 cores and 32 threads at its disposal.

The Intel Core i9-13980HX uses the 13th generation Intel UHD Graphics with 32 execution units as graphics units. In addition to the 32 execution units, this has 256 shader units and can use a maximum of 64 gigabytes of the main memory installed in the system. The clock frequency of the iGPU is 400 megahertz, but this can increase to up to 1.65 gigahertz in turbo mode.

The Intel Core i9-13980HX has 2 memory channels that can be used to control up to 128 gigabytes of RAM. DDR4-3200 and DDR5-5600 memory types are officially supported.
