Description of the processor

The AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX is based on AMDs AMD Dragon Range APU architecture. This relies on Zen 4 CPU cores which are combined with an integrated RDNA 2 graphics unit. The AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX is currently the fastest AMD mobile processor and has 16 CPU cores that can process 32 threads in parallel. This makes it suitable not only for modern computer games, but also for demanding applications such as professional image or video processing.

The clock frequency of the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX is 2.5 GHz. Like all modern processors, the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX can dynamically adapt its clock frequency to CPU temperature and energy consumption. The clock frequency can be increased to a maximum of 5.4 GHz.

The AMD Radeon 610M is used as internal graphics. Although this is based on the very current RDNA 2 graphics architecture from AMD, it is not suitable for demanding computer games due to the small number of execution units. The iGPUs 128 texture shaders are simply not enough to provide sufficient performance. In this respect, the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX should be paired with fast dedicated graphics to exploit its full potential.

A maximum of 128 GB DDR5-5200 can be installed together with the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX. The maximum memory bandwidth is 83.2 GB/s when the RAM is used in dual-channel mode. The AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX can also communicate with external devices using the new PCIe 5.0 standard. Overall, the PCIe bandwidth is a maximum of 110.3 GB/s.
