The Intel Core i5-7400 was based on the Kaby Lake S architecture. Upon its introduction, it was a solid mid-range processor. Manufactured using the proven 14 nm process, it proved to be a reliable component for everyday use. A notable feature is its integrated graphics unit: the Intel HD Graphics 630.

Even then, this enabled problem-free display for office software and media. An additional graphics card was not absolutely necessary for this. Even today, the Intel Core i5-7400 still provides good service for simple computer work. Think of surfing or word processing. Its 6 MB Level 3 cache contributes to smooth operation.

We still see this processor as a viable option. This applies to systems without demanding applications. The maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s is sufficient for many tasks. The support of PCIe 3.0 also ensures broad compatibility. This chip from Intel represents solid engineering of the time.
