The Intel Core i7-875K is a notable processor from an earlier era. It is based on Intel's proven Lynnfield architecture. One of its main features is the unlocked multiplier. This allowed experienced users to overclock the processor flexibly. Thus, the performance could be well adapted for demanding applications.

Another strength was the implemented Hyper-Threading technology. This allowed multiple tasks to be processed efficiently at the same time. The processor also offered a generous 8 MB Level 3 cache.
