The Intel Core i3-8100 is a processor based on the Coffee Lake S architecture. Its introduction brought an important innovation: Four physical cores for the i3 series. Manufactured in the 14 nm process, it delivered reliable computing power for typical everyday tasks. A clear plus was the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630.

This graphics unit allowed smooth playback of media. Office applications could also be used without any problems. Even for simple games, the performance was often sufficient. The processor has 6 MB Level 3 cache. This noticeably supports data processing. The connection via PCIe 3.0 also offered sufficient bandwidth for various system components.

We still see this chip as a solid foundation for price-conscious computers. It is well suited for users who are looking for a stable base. This applies to general tasks, without requiring extremely high computing power. The maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s.
