Intel Xeon E5-1620 v2
Benchmarks & Specs

Last updated:
The Intel Xeon E5-1620 v2 is a processor originally intended for demanding workstations and servers. It is based on the proven Ivy Bridge EP architecture. This was manufactured at the time using the advanced 22-nanometer process. Back then, the CPU represented an extremely solid foundation for many professional applications.

Even today, the processor can still deliver considerable performance in specific areas of application. Particularly noteworthy is the proverbial reliability. It is a typical feature of the entire Xeon product line from Intel. The integrated support for PCIe 3.0 is still useful. It enables decent connectivity for many expansion cards.

With 10 MB L3 cache and 60 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth, it was well equipped. Especially for data-intensive tasks. It was designed as a true workhorse. Especially for applications that benefit from stability and multi-core capabilities. We were surprised at how stable and enduring this CPU still works today.

If you need a stable system for dedicated server tasks, you will find a cost-effective solution here. It is also suitable for certain older workstation software. The core technology is robust and designed for continuous operation, which is noticeable in the processor.
  • Robust Ivy Bridge EP Architecture
  • High Reliability
  • Support for PCIe 3.0
  • Solid Memory Bandwidth
