The AMD A10-9700 processor, based on the Excavator architecture, was a solid representative of its time. It was manufactured using the 28 nm process, common at the time. A striking feature was the integrated graphics unit. The AMD Radeon R7 - 384 (Bristol Ridge) offered quite decent graphics performance.

Thus, a separate graphics card was not absolutely necessary. This processor was well-suited for basic office work or streaming media. Even lighter games could often still be managed with it. PCIe 3.0 support ensured sufficient connectivity. Various expansion cards found their place here. With 2 MB Level 2 cache and 38 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth, it met the requirements of the time.

We often found it in systems that focused on a good price-performance ratio. For everyday tasks such as surfing or word processing, it is still usable today. It was not a top performer in terms of performance, but always a reliable companion. Such unassuming chips often do their job for many years.
