Description of the processor

The Intel Core i5-4590T is an energy-efficient desktop processor from the 4th Intel Core i generation. This is based on Intels "Haswell" architecture. The Intel Core i5-4590T uses 4 CPU cores, but does not support Intel Hyper-Threading technology. Intel Hyper-Threading technology doubles the number of CPU cores in the operating system by adding a virtual CPU core for each real CPU core. This can increase CPU performance by up to 25% in optimized multi-core applications.

The clock frequency of the T processors is lower than that of normal processors. The Intel Core i5-4590T clocks at 2.0 GHz, but has a turbo mode in which the clock frequency can be flexibly increased up to 3.0 GHz.

The Intel Core i5-4590T uses the Intel HD Graphics 4600 with 20 execution units and 160 shaders as integrated graphics. The clock frequency of the iGPU is a maximum of 1.1 GHz. The graphics are not suitable for modern computer games due to the low computing power.

The amount of RAM can be a maximum of 32 GB, which is more than enough for most users. In dual-channel mode, in which two or four memory modules are addressed simultaneously, the maximum memory bandwidth is 25.6 GB/s if the fastest released memory (DDR3-1600) is used. Memory error correction ECC is not supported by the Intel Core i5-4590T.

A dedicated graphics card can be connected to the system via PCIe 3.0 with up to 16 PCIe lines. The maximum memory bandwidth with 16 lines is 15.8 GB/s.

In addition to the clock frequency, the biggest difference between the Intel Core i5-4590T and the normal version is the TDP of the processor. This determines the energy consumption or the cooling solution required to cool the processor.
