Description of the processor

The Intel Core i7-13700H is a 14 core processor that has a hybrid core structure. The cores of the Intel Core i7-13700H consist of 6 larger P-cores (Raptor Cove) and 8 smaller E-cores (Gracemont). The P-cores support Intels Hyperthreading technology, which enables the Intel Core i7-13700H to process up to 20 threads at the same time with its total of 14 CPU cores.

The clock frequency of the P cores is 2.4 GHz (5.0 GHz in Turbo mode), the smaller E cores are more efficient and therefore clock significantly lower at 1.8 GHz (3.7 GHz in Turbo mode). .

The internal graphics, known as iGPU for short, are the Intel Iris Xe Graphics with 96 execution units, which is currently the largest iGPU of this generation. The iGPU has 768 shaders and has an FP32 computing power of 2.2 TFLOPS. The new and free video codec AV1 is decoded in hardware by the iGPU.

The Intel Core i7-13700H can use up to 64 GB of RAM. The desktop platform also supports both DDR4 and the newer and faster DDR5 memory. A maximum of two memory channels (dual-channel) are supported; DDR5-5200 with a memory bandwidth of 83.2 GB/s is supported as standard. Soldered LPDDR5-6400 memory with a memory bandwidth of 102.4 GB/s is also supported.

External devices can be connected with 28 PCIe lines, i.e. a dedicated graphics card with 16 lines can be used simultaneously at maximum speed, for example a fast M.2 SSD with 4 PCIe lines.

The TDP of the Intel Core i7-13700H is 45 watts, the power limit 2. (PL2) is 115 watts, although many notebooks cannot maintain this high thermal value for very long due to the cooling performance. The Intel Core i7-13700H has 24 MB Level 3 cache and is manufactured in 10 nm.
