Description of the processor

The AMD Ryzen 3 3200G is a quad-core processor with a base clock of 3.6 GHz. If all cores are used, the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G can clock them with up to 3.8 GHz. The single-core Turbo is at 4.0 GHz. Hyper-threading is not supported, which means the processor can process a total of 4 threads simultaneously.

The APU has an integrated graphics unit in addition to the 4 CPU cores. AMD installs the AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics in the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G, which has 8 GPU cores / execution units and thus comes to 512 shaders. The graphics card can use up to 16 GB of working memory as graphics memory and clocks with up to 1.25 GHz. It achieves a computing power of 1280 GFLOPS with single precision.

Officially, working memory up to the DDR4-2933 standard is supported, with a total of up to 64 GB of memory. Thereby, the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G has 2 memory channels, which should also be used, since the memory bandwidth almost doubles in dual-channel mode. A throughput of 46.9 GB/s (memory copy) is then possible. Unofficially, even faster working memory (e.g. DDR4-3400) is also supported. Since a fast memory also accelerates the internal graphics, it is advisable to install the fastest possible memory.

The graphics performance of the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G is sufficient for simple games up to Full HD resolution. This includes, for example, World of Warcraft or the popular shooter Fortnite. The processor is specified with a TDP of 65 watts, but can also be configured to 45 watts (TDP down) when the clock rates are lowered.

Introduced in Q2 2019, the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G is based on the Zen+ (Picasso) design, which is manufactured in 12 nm at GlobalFoundries. The processors Level 3 cache is 4 MB in size. The AMD Ryzen 3 3200G is designed for smaller mini-PCs and office PCs that only need an integrated graphics card and can thus be offered at a low price.
