The Apple M1, introduced in 2020, aimed for efficient and powerful processing for general and creative applications.

It is manufactured using the 5 nm process, integrates an Apple M1 (8 Core) internal graphics, 16 MB Level 2 Cache, and offers a maximum memory bandwidth of 68 GB/s. In benchmarks, the Apple M1 shows solid single-core and multi-core performance. For gaming, it offers good performance for many titles.

Its 5 nm process ensures good energy efficiency. Devices with Apple M1 are more affordable and offer excellent value for money. The newer Apple M4, introduced in 2024, targets users with the highest performance demands for professional tasks, AI, and future-proof applications.

It uses the more advanced 3 nm process, offers an Apple M4 (10 Core) internal graphics, 20 MB Level 2 Cache, and a significantly higher memory bandwidth of 120 GB/s. Compared to the Apple M1, the Apple M4 significantly outperforms it in single-core and multi-core benchmarks.

For gaming, the Apple M4 delivers significantly better performance thanks to its architecture and more GPU cores. Its 3 nm process enables higher performance with comparable power consumption. Apple M4 devices are premium products with a correspondingly higher price.
