Benchmarks

The Intel Pentium Gold 8505 is a processor from Intels mobile segment. It was released in the first quarter of 2022 and is based on the Alder Lake U architecture built in a monolithic chip design. The level 2 cache of the Intel Pentium Gold 8505 is 3.25 megabytes and the level 3 cache is 8.00 megabytes.

The processor consists of a hybrid core architecture, also known as big.LITTLE, and has a performance core codenamed Golden Cove and 4 efficiency cores codenamed Gracemont. The base clock of the performance core is 1.20 gigahertz and the base clock of the efficiency curve is given as 0.90 gigahertz. In turbo mode, the Golde Cove core can increase the clock to up to 4.40 gigahertz and the maximum clock of the Gracemont cores is 3.30 gigahertz. Only the performance core supports hyperthreading, which means that the processor has 5 physical cores and 6 computing threads at its disposal.

The Intel Pentium Gold 8505 has 11th generation Intel UHD Graphics with 48 execution units integrated as the internal graphics unit. This iGPU has 384 shader units and the base clock is 200 megahertz. The turbo clock of the graphics unit is specified as 1.10 gigahertz and the iGPU thus achieves a theoretical FP32 computing power of 844 GigaFLOPS. The internal graphics unit is manufactured with a structure width of 10 nanometers and was integrated into a processor for the first time in the second quarter of 2020. The graphics unit can use up to 64 gigabytes of the RAM installed in the system.

However, the Intel Pentium Gold 8505 with its 2 memory channels can be operated with a maximum of 64 gigabytes of RAM, so the graphics unit can never use its maximum. The processor officially supports the operation of the following memory types: DDR4-3200, DDR5-4800, LPDDR4X-4266 and LPDDR5-5200.
