Geekbench 6 (Single-Core)

Geekbench 6 is a benchmark for modern computers, notebooks and smartphones. What is new is an optimized utilization of newer CPU architectures, e.g. based on the big.LITTLE concept and combining CPU cores of different sizes. The single-core benchmark only evaluates the performance of the fastest CPU core, the number of CPU cores in a processor is irrelevant here.

Benchmarks

The Intel Core i7-12800H is a mobile processor with 14 CPU cores. Thanks to Intel Hyperthreading technology, the processor can process 20 threads simultaneously. Hyperthreading technology allows a processor to run two threads in parallel on one processor core.

The hybrid structure of the Intel Core i7-12800H includes 6 fast "Golden Cove" cores and 8 efficient and small "Gracemont" cores, which Intel actually uses in the "Intel Atom" format. The cores share tasks and always try to process them as efficiently as possible. Background tasks are mostly processed on the more efficient "Gracemont" cores, while the larger and faster cores take care of processing urgent tasks.

The base clock frequency of the Intel Core i7-12800H is 1.8 to 2.4 GHz, the clock frequencies of the cores can be increased to 3.7 to 4.8 GHz via the turbo mode, provided the notebook has sufficient capacity cooling and a good power supply.

The Intel Iris Xe Graphics in the largest expansion stage with a total of 96 computing units (768 texture shaders) is used as the iGPU (internal graphics unit) in the Intel Core i7-12800H. With a computing power of 2.1 GFLOP/s, the graphics card is quite capable of playing older games smoothly. The current AV1 video codec is also already decoded in hardware by the Iris Xe graphics, which can significantly reduce the processor load when playing YouTube videos, for example.

The Intel Core i7-12800H can be paired with up to 64GB of memory, with the official maximum support of DDR5-4800 or LPDDR5-5200. When using DDR5 memory, two memory channels are available, with LPDDR5 up to 4 memory channels can be used with half the bandwidth. The maximum memory bandwidth is 76.8 GB per second.
