The Intel Core i5-1240P is a processor from the mobile range of Intels processor range, which is manufactured using the 10-nanometer process. It came onto the market in the first quarter of 2022 and is mostly installed in notebooks such as the Samsung Galaxy Book2 or the Lenovo Yoga 9. Furthermore, ASRock has announced a Mini PC (ASRock Industrial NUC BOX-1240P) for 2022.

The Intel Core i5-1240P comes from the twelfth generation of Intels i5 processors and relies on a hybrid big.LITTLE core architecture. In this case, this means that the Intel Core i5-1240P has 4 high-performance cores and 8 efficient cores. The 4 high-performance cores of the Golden Cove type clock at 1.70 gigahertz and can increase the clock rate to up to 4.40 gigahertz in turbo mode. In addition, the 4 high-performance cores also support Hyperthreading. The 4 high-performance cores are supported by 8 Gracemont-type efficiency cores. These clock at 1.20 gigahertz and can increase their clock rate to up to 3.30 gigahertz in turbo mode. the efficiency cores do not support hyperthreading, which means that the Intel Core i5-1240P has a total of 12 cores and 16 threads at its disposal.

The Intel Iris Xe Graphics 80 (Alder Lake), which was also released in the first quarter, is used as the graphics unit. The iGPU, manufactured in 10 nanometers, clocks at 0.40 to 1.30 gigahertz and has 80 execution units with 640 shaders. With this, the graphics unit achieves a FP32 computing power of 1611 GigaFLOPS and is able to supply up to 4 monitors in parallel with an image.

When it comes to RAM, the processor offers a wide range of types, so the Intel Core i5-1240P supports DDR4-3200, DDR5-4800, LPDDR4X-4266 and LPDDR5-5200. With the 2 existing memory channels, up to 64 gigabytes of RAM can be operated with the Intel Core i5-1240P, which achieves a bandwidth of up to 76.8 GB/s.
