The AMD Ryzen 7 2700U was once a significant mobile CPU. This processor was based on the Zen architecture, codenamed Raven Ridge. A particular advantage of this processor was its integrated graphics unit, the AMD Radeon RX Vega 10. This offered considerable graphical performance for the time.

It was always sufficient for common everyday applications or occasional, light gaming. The processor also has 4 MB Level 3 cache. This supported the overall performance of the system in a meaningful way. Manufacturing in the 14 nm process enabled a balanced efficiency for mobile use. We have found that it is still usable for some tasks, especially when it comes to basic productivity.

The successful combination of CPU and graphics on a single chip, known as an APU, convinced many users. This made it a popular choice for versatile laptops that needed solid all-round performance. The AMD Ryzen 7 2700U remains an interesting example of AMD's early APU development.
