The
AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX is a high-performance processor from AMD that was designed for the server sector. The processor is manufactured using the 7-nanometer process and is based on the WRX8 or sWRX8 socket. The processor based on the Chagall architecture (Zen 3) was released by AMD in the first quarter of 2022.
It is based on the ISA instruction set x86-64 (64 bit) and supports the following ISA extensions: SSE4a, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX2, FMA3, as well as the following AMD virtualization technologies: AMD-V, SVM.
The
AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX has a 32.00 megabyte level 2 cache and the level 3 cache is even 256.00 megabytes.
The processor consists of 64 individual cores and thanks to the supported Hyperthreading technology, up to 128 computing threads are available to the processor. The base clock frequency is 2.70 gigahertz and the maximum turbo clock frequency is 4.50 gigahertz. However, this is only achieved when individual cores are utilized. If all 64 cores are utilized, the maximum turbo clock frequency of 3.20 gigahertz is significantly lower.
The
AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX does not have an internal graphics unit, but has 128 PCI Express lanes at its disposal, via which a graphics solution, but also any other possible hardware that supports the PCIe protocol, can be connected.
The main memory shows that this is a server processor. The
AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX has 8 memory channels that enable a maximum bandwidth of 204.8 GB/s. Overall, the processor can be operated with up to 2048 GB (2 terabytes!) of RAM. DDR4-3200 RAM is officially supported and modules with automatic error correction (ECC RAM) can also be installed.
- Exceptional Multi-Core Performance
- Very large L3 and L2 Cache
- Robust connectivity with PCIe 4.0
- Designed for demanding workstation environments
