Intel Celeron J3455 vs Intel Processor N95

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron J3455, based on the Apollo Lake architecture, was introduced as an energy-efficient processor for cost-effective mini-PCs and thin clients.

It is designed for basic computing tasks such as web browsing and word processing. Manufactured using the 14 nm process, it features four cores and four threads with 2 MB of L3 cache. Its integrated graphics unit is the Intel HD Graphics 500. The maximum memory bandwidth is 30 GB/s, and it supports PCIe 2.0.

In benchmarks, the Intel Celeron J3455 shows basic single-core and multi-core performance. It is not suitable for gaming; its integrated graphics unit is only sufficient for very light applications. It is characterized by very low energy consumption and a low TDP, enabling fanless systems.

Its price-performance ratio is relevant in older systems where the acquisition cost is to be minimized. The Intel Processor N95 is a more modern processor from the Alder Lake N family, developed for a wider range of energy-efficient devices such as current mini-PCs.

It aims for improved performance and efficiency for everyday applications. Manufactured using the more advanced 10 nm process, it offers four cores and four threads with 4 MB of L2 cache and 6 MB of L3 cache. The integrated graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Alder Lake). The maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s, and it supports PCIe 3.0.

The Intel Processor N95 offers significantly higher single-core and multi-core performance than the Intel Celeron J3455. Its graphics performance is also noticeably better, but still not suitable for demanding gaming. It combines high energy efficiency with a moderate TDP and offers a superior price-performance ratio in new systems.
