Geekbench 6 (Single-Core)

Geekbench 6 is a benchmark for modern computers, notebooks and smartphones. What is new is an optimized utilization of newer CPU architectures, e.g. based on the big.LITTLE concept and combining CPU cores of different sizes. The single-core benchmark only evaluates the performance of the fastest CPU core, the number of CPU cores in a processor is irrelevant here.

Benchmarks

The Intel Core i5-13600T has 14 CPU cores, which are divided into 6 fast P cores (Raptor Cove) and 8 economical E cores (Gracemont). This core layout is also called a hybrid layout. Specifically, Intel, like Apple, for example, uses the so-called big.LITTLE layout of CPU cores, in which two different types of CPU cores and architectures are combined.

The larger P cores clock at 1.8 GHz in the Intel Core i5-13600T, and the clock frequency can be increased to up to 4.8 GHz in turbo mode. These cores are very fast, but also require a correspondingly large amount of energy under full load. These are combined with E cores that are based on Intels Atom technology and calculate more slowly. On the other hand, these E cores are very economical and, thanks to a smaller cache, also more efficient than the larger P cores.

The E cores clock at 1.3 GHz, and a clock frequency of up to 3.4 GHz can be achieved in turbo mode. In order to achieve high clock frequencies in Turbo mode, the system has to be well cooled. The Intel Core i5-13600T still uses the Alder Lake architecture, which Intel already used in the previous generation. The faster models of the 13th generation Intel Core i series, on the other hand, use the Raptor Lake architecture, which, for example, has more cache and even higher clock frequencies.

The older Intel UHD Graphics 770 is used as the integrated graphics (iGPU) in the Intel Core i5-13600T. This is suitable for normal work on the computer and, thanks to the support of current video codecs, also for video playback. However, this graphic is much too slow for PC games.

Overall, the Intel Core i5-13600T can control up to 128 GB of RAM. DDR5-4800 modules are the maximum supported here, as this is the limit of the Alder Lake architecture. However, faster modules outside the specification can also be used.
