The Intel Celeron 847, based on the Sandy Bridge U architecture, is designed for energy-efficient mobile devices. It is often found in thin notebooks or compact nettops. A key feature of this processor is its extremely economical operation. This design enabled long battery life and the construction of passively cooled systems.

Integrated is the Intel HD Graphics (Sandy Bridge GT1), which serves for basic visual tasks. These include, for example, surfing the Internet. The processing of simple documents and the playback of videos are also included. The 2 MB Level-3 cache supports the overall system performance. The Intel Celeron 847 is still functional for simple applications and basic multimedia content.

We see how it still reliably performs its service in many devices. Its production in the 32 nm process contributed significantly to efficiency. This processor is exemplary for a generation of mobile computers. It was never designed for demanding tasks, but focused on the essentials.
