Geekbench 6 is a benchmark for modern computers, notebooks and smartphones. What is new is an optimized utilization of newer CPU architectures, e.g. based on the big.LITTLE concept and combining CPU cores of different sizes. The single-core benchmark only evaluates the performance of the fastest CPU core, the number of CPU cores in a processor is irrelevant here.

Benchmarks

The AMD Ryzen 5 3500x is the currently smallest AMD Ryzen 5 3rd generation processor. He has no hyper-threading as the unique Ryzen 5 desktop processor. The 6 core processor clocks a core with up to 4.1 GHz. At load on several cores, the clock frequency is still 4.0 GHz.

The AMD Ryzen is manufactured 5 3500x in 7 Nm (Zen 2 Design) at GlobalFoundries. As an OEM processor, it is not intended for retail and is officially distributed only in China. Some Chinese dealers deliver the AMD Ryzen 5 3500x but also abroad and also to Germany.

The AMD Ryzen 5 3500x has a 32 MB Level 3 cache and can respond to the main memory with the standard DDR4-3200. In this case, the processor 2 can use memory channels and thus doubl the memory bandwidth. ECC Memory is supported. However, the motherboard must play along, because ECC only works when CPU, Memory and Mainboard work together. Modern virtualization functions such as AMD-V and SEV are also fully supported by the processor.

The CPU is classified as many of the Ryzen 5 3000 processors in the 65 watt class. He is very well overclocked due to the lack of hyper-threading and can also be cooled quite easily thanks to the 7 nm manufacturing. The main memory can be easily operated with significantly higher clock frequencies. An internal graphics card does not have the AMD Ryzen 5 3500x like all other AMD Ryzen 5 processors.

In Chinese dealers, the AMD Ryzen 5 3500x is listed for small 115 euros, which is significantly less compared to the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (about 30% more power). The larger brother then costs 75% more. Of course, this is also because the AMD Ryzen 5 3500x is not intended for the end customer market and often undamaged to Germany.
