Intel Celeron J1900 vs AMD A4-5000

Last updated:
The AMD A4-5000 is based on the Kabini architecture and was developed for affordable desktop systems and compact computers.

Manufactured using the 28-nanometer process, this processor has four cores and four threads as well as a 2 MB Level 3 cache. In benchmarks, the computing power per core shows a significant lag compared to the competing model from Intel. The integrated graphics unit AMD Radeon HD 8330 offers a more solid basis for simple graphical calculations than the Intel model, but is still not sufficient for modern games.

With a memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s, the system is well-positioned for everyday office work. The thermal design power is in a low range, which allows for simple cooling. The model is primarily found in cost-effective complete systems, where it offers stable basic functionality for simple applications.

The Intel Celeron J1900 uses the Bay Trail architecture and aims for energy-efficient desktop solutions and fanless systems.

It is manufactured using the 22-nanometer process and also offers four cores without Hyper-Threading as well as a 2 MB Level 3 cache. In single-core performance, the Intel Celeron J1900 is noticeably ahead of the AMD model, which results in smoother operation of programs. The integrated Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1) is primarily designed for image output and lags behind the AMD solution in graphic applications.

Support for PCIe 2.0 allows for the connection of basic expansion cards. Due to its low power consumption, this processor is suitable for continuous operation in compact systems or home servers. The price-performance ratio is optimized for efficiency in specialized fields of application.
