Apple M4 vs AMD Ryzen 7 250

Last updated:
The Apple M4, a recently introduced Apple processor, aims for high performance and energy efficiency in mobile devices and future Macs.

It is manufactured using a 3 nm process and features a 10-core design with 20 MB of Level 2 cache. The AMD Ryzen 7 250, based on the Hawk Point (Zen 4) architecture, is an AMD-manufactured processor built on a 4 nm process, offering balanced performance with 8 cores, 16 threads, 8 MB of Level 2 cache, and 16 MB of Level 3 cache for compact systems.

In benchmarks, the Apple M4 shows significantly higher single-core performance. In multi-core performance, the Apple M4 also considerably surpasses the AMD Ryzen 7 250 in many tests, while they are almost on par in other multi-core scenarios. The Apple M4 integrates an Apple M4 (10 Core) GPU, optimized for the Apple ecosystem.

The AMD Ryzen 7 250 features a powerful AMD Radeon 780M graphics unit, known for broader compatibility and better driver support in Windows gaming. Energy efficiency is a strength of the Apple M4 thanks to its 3 nm process and ARM architecture, leading to low power consumption.

The 4 nm AMD Ryzen 7 250 is also efficient but can consume more power under full load. Direct market prices are not available for either, as they are part of integrated systems.
