The
Intel Atom N2600 is a processor that was once designed for a very specific niche. Based on the
Cedarview architecture and manufactured in 32 nm, it offered a harmonious balance at the time. Its greatest strength has always been in the area of high energy efficiency. This predestined it for mobile devices such as netbooks or embedded systems.
Even today, we still find it in some special applications. An important feature is also the integrated graphics unit, the Intel GMA 3600. It enabled a very compact and complete system solution in the smallest space. This CPU was never designed for truly demanding calculations. Rather, it reliably fulfilled the everyday, basic computer requirements of its time.
Its compact design was quite groundbreaking for the time. The chip contributed significantly to realizing lightweight and truly affordable devices. We find that it still does its job solidly in its original area of application.
