Description of the processor

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D is a processor from the desktop segment of the fourth generation of the AMD Ryzen 5 series. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D is manufactured with a structure width of 7 nanometers. It was released in the third quarter of 2023 and requires socket AM4 (PGA 1331). The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D is based on the Vermeer (Zen 3) architecture, which is manufactured in chiplet design. It has a level 2 cache of 3.00 megabytes and the level 3 cache that is also present is 96.00 megabytes.

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D consists of 6 identical processor cores. These have a base clock frequency of 3.30 gigahertz and the maximum turbo clock is 4.40 gigahertz when one core is fully loaded and 4.20 gigahertz when all six cores are loaded in parallel. The processor cores support hyperthreading technology, which means that up to 12 computing threads are available to the processor if required. However, this can only be used as long as not all processors are fully utilized, then it remains with the 6 cores and 6 threads.

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D does not have an internal graphics card, so it must be operated with a dedicated graphics card. This can then be connected via the 20 existing PCI Express lines in version 4.0. This means that the processor is able to be operated with all graphics cards available in quarter 3 of 2023. The bandwidth of the PCIe interface is 39.40 gigabytes per second.

The processor is specified with a TDP of 105 watts and supports the operation of up to 128 gigabytes of RAM via the 2 available memory channels. AMD specifies DDR4-3200 as the supported memory type, which achieves a memory bandwidth of 51.2 gigabytes per second. In addition, even main memory with automatic error correction, i.e. ECC main memory, can be used.
