Benchmarks & Specs

Last updated:
The AMD Athlon 5150, a processor from the Kabini family, based on the Jaguar architecture, was designed for entry-level desktops. Although it dates back to 2014, it reliably served its purpose in many households. One of its greatest strengths was the integrated graphics unit, the AMD Radeon HD 8400.

This enabled smooth video playback and supported basic multimedia applications. Thanks to the 28 nm manufacturing process, the Athlon 5150 was characterized by remarkably low power consumption. This made it an ideal choice for compact systems or fanless PCs where silence was a priority. With 2 MB Level 3 Cache, it also offered a solid base for everyday tasks.

It was a smart, inexpensive solution for users looking for a computer for browsing, word processing, and light entertainment. We saw that this is where it could unleash its full performance. This chip showed how well integrated solutions worked back then. It was a practical option for users who needed a simple and functional platform.

Even today, it can still handle basic tasks well. Sometimes it surprises us how robust such older chips are.
