Benchmarks & Specs

Last updated:
The AMD Athlon II X2 250 was a solid dual-core processor that provided a reliable foundation at the time of its introduction. Manufactured using the 45-nm process, it proved to be an efficient solution for everyday computing tasks. We remember that this manufacturing process was a step forward at the time, helping to keep heat generation in check.

With its Propus architecture, it enabled good performance for typical home applications and offered a solid base. Its two cores were sufficient for browsing, office work, and media playback. Particularly noteworthy was the support for PCIe 2.0, which was important for connecting to graphics cards of its generation.

The 2 MB Level-2 cache also helped to deliver data quickly. With a maximum memory bandwidth of 21 GB/s, it was also able to properly supply more demanding programs of its time. The AMD Athlon II X2 250 was an example of how AMD delivered accessible performance for the mainstream market at the time. It wasn't a high-end chip, but it performed its task reliably.
