Intel Celeron N4500 vs Apple A14 Bionic

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N4500 is based on the Jasper Lake architecture and is manufactured by Intel using the 10-nanometer process.

It is aimed at beginners for simple office work on compact desktop systems. With two cores and two threads, as well as an L2 cache of 2 MB and an L3 cache of 4 MB, it offers practical single-core performance. In benchmarks, however, it reaches system-related limits in multi-core performance. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs is sufficient for video playback but is hardly suitable for gaming scenarios.

A significant advantage is the low Thermal Design Power for silent operation. The price-performance ratio is appropriate for simple usage scenarios. The Apple A14 Bionic uses the A14 architecture with Firestorm and Icestorm cores and is produced using the efficient 5-nanometer process.

Originally designed for mobile devices, this chip offers six cores for demanding applications. In benchmarks, the performance in both single-core and multi-core areas is significantly higher than that of the comparison model. With a large cache of 12 MB L2 cache and 16 MB L3 cache and a memory bandwidth of 34 GB/s, the Apple A14 Bionic processes complex tasks very quickly.

The integrated Apple A14 graphics unit offers sufficient reserves for mobile games. Despite the high computing power, power consumption remains low, which minimizes the thermal load. Since the chip is part of closed systems, it is aimed at users in the premium price segment. The Intel Celeron N4500 is suitable for simple office tasks, while the Apple A14 Bionic is recommended for more demanding applications.
