Intel Celeron N4100 vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N4100, introduced in late 2017 with Gemini Lake architecture and 14nm process, targets cost-effective entry-level devices.

It has four cores, four threads, and Intel UHD Graphics 600. The Intel Processor N100, released in early 2023, uses the more modern Alder Lake N architecture in a 10nm process and is aimed at similar segments.

It also features four cores and four threads, but with the more powerful Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake). In terms of computing performance, the Intel Processor N100 significantly outperforms the Intel Celeron N4100. It delivers considerably higher performance for both single-core and multi-core tasks thanks to its more advanced architecture.

Neither is optimized for gaming; the N100 offers a slightly better experience for very light games due to its newer integrated graphics unit. The memory bandwidth for both is 38 GB/s. Both processors are known for their energy efficiency, with a typical Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 6W, enabling fanless designs.

While the Intel Celeron N4100 can be found in older, extremely low-cost devices, the Intel Processor N100 offers better value for money in new systems due to its significantly higher performance with comparable energy efficiency. For basic tasks with minimal cost, the Intel Celeron N4100 is sufficient.

For modern everyday computing tasks requiring better responsiveness and graphics performance, the Intel Processor N100 is the superior choice.
