Intel Celeron N2930 vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N2930, based on the Bay Trail architecture and manufactured in 22 nm, was developed for affordable and energy-efficient devices.

It features four cores, four threads, and 2 MB of Level 3 cache. Its integrated graphics unit is the Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1) with a maximum memory bandwidth of 21 GB/s. The Intel Processor N100, on the other hand, is a newer development with the Alder Lake N architecture, manufactured using the more advanced 10 nm process.

It aims for efficient performance in compact systems, also offering four cores and four threads, but with 4 MB of Level 2 and 6 MB of Level 3 cache. Its integrated graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake), and the maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s. In terms of performance comparison, the Intel Processor N100 shows significantly higher single-core and multi-core performance than the Intel Celeron N2930.

These substantial differences are evident in benchmarks exceeding ten percent. Both processors are unsuitable for demanding gaming, but the Intel Processor N100 offers noticeably better display for very light games or media playback thanks to its newer graphics unit and higher memory bandwidth. Due to the more modern 10 nm manufacturing process, the Intel Processor N100 is more energy-efficient.

Both chips are designed for low-power consumption systems, often with passive cooling. While the Intel Celeron N2930 is primarily found in older devices, the Intel Processor N100 offers a significantly better price-performance ratio for modern tasks due to its substantially increased performance.

For new purchases and improved user experiences, the Intel Processor N100 is the superior choice; the Intel Celeron N2930 is only sufficient for basic legacy tasks.
