Intel Celeron J1900 vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron J1900, based on the older Bay Trail architecture, was manufactured using the 22 nm process and targets energy-efficient, cost-effective systems such as thin clients or NAS devices.

It features four cores, 0 MB Level 2 Cache, and 2 MB Level 3 Cache. Its integrated graphics unit is the Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1) with a maximum memory bandwidth of 21 GB/s. The Intel Celeron J1900 uses PCIe 2.0. Its performance is designed for basic tasks and offers lower computing power compared to newer processors.

The Intel Processor N100, on the other hand, part of the modern Alder Lake N architecture, is manufactured using the more advanced 10 nm process and is optimized for fanless mini-PCs and IoT applications.

It also offers four cores, but with 4 MB Level 2 Cache and 6 MB Level 3 Cache, enabling improved data processing. Its more modern Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) benefits from a higher maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s. The Intel Processor N100 supports PCIe 3.0. In a direct comparison, the Intel Processor N100 significantly outperforms the Intel Celeron J1900 in both single-core and multi-core performance.

For gaming, the Intel Processor N100 delivers better performance thanks to its superior integrated graphics unit, although neither is suitable for demanding titles. In terms of power consumption, the Intel Processor N100 is also more efficient due to its modern manufacturing process and architecture.

Given its significantly higher performance with low power requirements, the Intel Processor N100 offers better value for money for current use cases. The Intel Celeron J1900 is only still suitable for very simple, cost-sensitive tasks.
