Intel Celeron G4900T vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron G4900T is based on the Coffee Lake S architecture and is designed for budget desktop systems.

Manufactured in a 14 nm process, this processor offers two computing cores. Computing performance is limited to basic tasks, with single-core performance being sufficient for simple office work. In multi-core performance, the limitation due to the low number of cores is clearly evident. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 610 graphics unit is primarily suitable for image output, while games are only supported to a very small extent.

With a Thermal Design Power of 35 watts, the unit requires active cooling. The Intel Celeron G4900T features a Level 3 cache of 2 MB and supports PCIe 3.0, making it a stable option for simple stationary computers. The Intel Processor N100 uses the Alder Lake N architecture and is produced in a 10 nm process.

It has four cores, which significantly increases performance in concurrent applications compared to the competitor. This model also leads in single-core performance due to its architecture. The Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) offers improved graphics performance over the competitor's basic solution, but is not sufficient for demanding gaming scenarios.

A major advantage is the very low power consumption of only 6 watts, which allows for fanless cases. Due to the larger Level 3 cache of 6 MB and high efficiency, the Intel Processor N100 is a suitable choice for compact mini-PCs. It offers a favorable price-performance ratio for everyday digital applications.
