AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 1300 vs Intel Processor N150

Last updated:
The AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 1300 (Zen, Summit Ridge, 14 nm), introduced Q2 2017, offers four cores, four threads, 2 MB L2, 8 MB L3 cache, and 43 GB/s memory bandwidth.

It targets entry-level desktops and requires a separate graphics card. The Intel Processor N150 (Twin Lake, 7 nm), released Q1 2023, also has four cores and four threads, 4 MB L2, 6 MB L3 cache, 38 GB/s memory bandwidth, and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs.

Both support PCIe 3.0. The Intel Processor N150 shows a clear single-core advantage. Multi-core performance is comparable, with the AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 1300 being slightly superior but not significantly. For gaming, both are only conditionally suitable; the integrated graphics of the Intel Processor N150 is an advantage for very light games without a dedicated card.

They differ greatly in power consumption: The AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 1300 has a TDP of 65 Watts and requires active cooling. The Intel Processor N150, at only 6.5 Watts, is extremely energy-efficient, ideal for fanless, compact systems. In terms of price, the older AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 1300 is more likely available used; the Intel Processor N150 is more current and power-saving for new entry-level systems.

The AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 1300 is suitable for older business desktops with basic multi-core performance and dedicated graphics. The Intel Processor N150 is the better choice for modern, energy-efficient, and compact systems serving everyday tasks or thin clients, thanks to its superior single-core performance, low power consumption, and integrated graphics.
