The Intel Core i5-4200M was once a widespread mobile processor that formed a solid basis for many users. As part of the Haswell H architecture, manufactured in the 22 nm process, it brought significant improvements. It offered reliable performance for everyday tasks such as surfing the internet, word processing, or media playback.

Many appreciated its balanced operation in notebooks at the time. Particularly noteworthy is the integrated graphics solution, the Intel HD Graphics 4600. This enabled smooth video playback and was even sufficient for the occasional less demanding game. The 3 MB Level 3 cache also contributed to a responsive user experience.

We have seen how this processor enabled many laptops to have a reliable digital life for years. Even if it no longer offers top performance today, it still serves its purpose for basic requirements. It is therefore a good example of durable technology. It represents a time when laptops became increasingly powerful and versatile.
