Intel Processor N100 vs Intel Processor 300

Last updated:
The Intel Processor N100, based on the energy-efficient Alder Lake N architecture and manufactured using the 10 nm process, is aimed at low-power systems such as mini-PCs or thin clients.

It features four cores and four threads. Its internal graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) with a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s and PCIe 3.0 connectivity. The Intel Processor N100 offers solid single-core performance but is inferior to the Intel Processor 300 in multi-core tasks in most benchmarks, with one exception where performance is comparable.

In contrast, the Intel Processor 300, based on the Raptor Lake S architecture and also manufactured using the 10 nm process, is designed for higher performance in the entry-level desktop segment. It has two cores and four threads. Its integrated graphics unit, the Intel UHD Graphics 710, benefits from a higher memory bandwidth of 77 GB/s and PCIe 4.0.

The Intel Processor 300 achieves significantly stronger single-core performance and also considerably outperforms the Intel Processor N100 in most multi-core tests. Neither processor is designed for gaming scenarios. The Intel Processor 300 offers advantages in very simple games and multimedia due to its more powerful graphics unit, higher memory bandwidth, and PCIe 4.0.

Regarding power consumption, the Intel Processor N100 is significantly more economical and ideal for fanless or silent systems. The Intel Processor 300 has higher power consumption. The price-performance ratio of the Intel Processor N100 is excellent for basic tasks, while the Intel Processor 300 offers noticeably better overall performance for general desktop use for a moderate surcharge.
