Intel Processor N100 vs AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS

Last updated:
The Intel Processor N100 is an energy-efficient processor for compact systems such as mini-PCs and inexpensive laptops, ideal for basic office and multimedia applications.

It is based on the Alder Lake N architecture, manufactured in 10 nm, and typically offers 4 cores. Its integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) and a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s are only suitable for very undemanding games. The computing performance in single- and multi-core tasks is designed for simple requirements.

With its very low TDP, it often enables fanless operation and is therefore cost-efficient. The AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS is a more powerful mobile processor for demanding laptops, designed for productivity, content creation, and gaming.

It utilizes the Hawk Point (Zen 4) architecture, manufactured in 4 nm, and features 8 cores and 16 threads. Its AMD Radeon 780M graphics unit and a memory bandwidth of 77 GB/s offer significantly higher gaming performance, allowing modern titles at moderate settings. In all single- and multi-core benchmarks, it considerably outperforms the Intel Processor N100.

Its higher TDP requires active cooling but enables significantly higher and more sustained performance.
