The Intel Core Ultra 7 265 (Arrow Lake), expected in 2024, focuses on energy efficiency and AI features of the Ultra series.

The i7-14700 is manufactured using a 10 nm process and utilizes a hybrid architecture with 28 MB L2 and 33 MB L3 cache. The Ultra 7 265 uses the more advanced 3 nm process of the Arrow Lake architecture with hybrid cores, an NPU, and 36 MB L2 as well as 33 MB L3 cache. Both support PCIe 5.0. The i7-14700 shows significantly higher performance in multi-core tasks.

The Ultra 7 265 offers slightly higher single-core performance. For gaming, the i7-14700 is the better choice due to higher overall performance. Both integrated graphics units (UHD Graphics 770 and Xe 4 Core Graphics 64 EUs respectively) require a dedicated graphics card for demanding gaming. The 10 nm i7-14700 has a higher TDP and requires stronger cooling.

The 3 nm Ultra 7 265 offers better energy efficiency and lower TDP thanks to the Arrow Lake architecture. It achieves 102 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth, while the i7-14700 achieves 90 GB/s. The established i7-14700 offers high computing power at a good price. The newer Ultra 7 265 might be more expensive initially but excels in energy efficiency and NPU integration.

The i7-14700 is ideal for multi-thread applications and gaming. The Ultra 7 265 is suitable for users who value energy efficiency, state-of-the-art manufacturing, and AI support.
