Intel Core i5-9500T vs Intel Processor N95

Last updated:
The Intel Core i5-9500T, introduced in the second quarter of 2019, is a processor based on the Coffee Lake S Refresh architecture, manufactured using a 14 nm process.

It is designed for energy-efficient desktop systems and features 6 cores, 6 threads, and 9 MB of Level 3 cache. Its integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 and a maximum memory bandwidth of 43 GB/s enable basic graphics performance. Compared to the Intel Processor N95, it shows noticeably higher single-core performance and significantly superior multi-core performance.

For light gaming scenarios, it provides a better foundation. With a TDP of 35 watts, it is less energy-efficient than the N95. The Intel Processor N95, unveiled in the first quarter of 2023, is based on the more modern Alder Lake N architecture and a more efficient 10 nm manufacturing process.

It targets entry-level mini PCs and thin clients and features 4 efficiency cores, 4 threads, as well as 4 MB of Level 2 and 6 MB of Level 3 cache. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Alder Lake) with a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s is sufficient for basic applications. Its single-core performance is close to that of the i5-9500T, but its multi-core performance is lower.

Its very low TDP of 15 watts makes it extremely energy-efficient and ideal for fanless systems. In summary, the Intel Core i5-9500T is the better choice for applications requiring higher computing power and somewhat better gaming suitability, while the Intel Processor N95 excels with its extreme energy efficiency and a very good price-performance ratio for simple, power-saving tasks.
