The single-core performance of the Intel Core i5-6400 is significantly higher than that of the Intel Core i7-2600 in the Geekbench 6 comparison. In multi-core performance, the Intel Core i5-6400 also shows noticeably better performance in the Geekbench 6 test, despite the Intel Core i7-2600's Hyper-Threading.

The Cinebench R23 single-core performance is comparable for both, without a significant difference. For gaming, the Intel Core i5-6400 is usually the more advantageous choice due to its newer architecture and associated better single-core performance.
