Intel Core i5-1235U vs Intel Processor U300

Last updated:
The Intel Core i5-1235U is based on the Alder Lake U architecture and was designed for mobile devices that require good efficiency in everyday use.

It is manufactured using the 10 nm process and features a hybrid architecture with a total of ten cores and twelve threads. In benchmarks, the Intel Core i5-1235U shows superior multi-core performance compared to the competing model, while single-core performance remains at a similar level.

Thanks to the integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics 80, this processor offers better graphical performance, which is advantageous for simple games. With a Level 3 cache of 12 MB and a memory bandwidth of 83 GB/s, it is well-equipped for more demanding office work. Power consumption remains moderate, which saves battery life and enables low heat generation.

The Intel Processor U300 is based on the Raptor Lake U architecture and is primarily aimed at price-conscious users of compact notebooks.

Despite the architecture, it only has five cores and six threads, which results in noticeably lower multi-core performance. However, single-core performance is almost on par with the Intel Core i5-1235U. Since the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 13th Gen has fewer execution units, the graphical performance is lower, limiting its suitability for games.

It offers 10 MB Level 3 cache and also a memory bandwidth of 83 GB/s. The focus here is on solid basic performance for simple tasks such as web browsing at an attractive price-performance ratio. For computationally intensive applications, the Intel Core i5-1235U is the better choice.
